Methodology
Content methodology
My Amaal summarizes evidence-backed reminders for practical personal use. The app does not issue fatwas or replace qualified scholarship.
For detailed rulings, personal circumstances, or questions where scholars differ, users should consult qualified scholars they trust.
Sources we use
Each reminder is connected to clear source references, such as Qur'an passages, hadith collections, or recognized scholarly works.
We show practical summaries for everyday use and keep the underlying sources visible wherever a reminder needs context.
What authenticity labels mean
Authenticity labels are short summaries of the available evidence, not independent legal rulings.
Strong evidence means an action is backed by the Qur'an or direct sahih hadith evidence. Accepted means an action is widely recommended or practiced with acceptable hadith evidence and clear grading context.
When scholars differ about a report or how it is applied, we call out that difference instead of presenting the action as certain.
When a label appears, it is supported by source references, grading notes, reviewer notes, or a combination of those details.
How content is reviewed
Content is reviewed before it is treated as approved guidance in the app.
Where review details are available, we track who reviewed the content, relevant credentials, review status, notes, and review date.
How differences of opinion are handled
When legitimate differences exist, we avoid presenting one view as the only valid view.
Our wording is intended to be careful, practical, and transparent about uncertainty or differing practice where relevant.
Calendar uncertainty
Hijri dates and Islamic nights can vary by community, sighting practice, and calculation method.
Users can adjust the Hijri date setting, and night timing may be approximate without location-based prayer times.
How to report an issue
Please report unclear wording, missing sources, suspected mistakes, or concerns about authenticity labels.
Include the event, action, or evidence reference when possible so the content can be reviewed and corrected.
