Terms of Service

Effective date: July 18, 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the My Amaal mobile app and the myamaal.com website (together, the "Service"). By downloading, accessing, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

For questions about these Terms, contact: support@myamaal.com

What the Service is

My Amaal is a personal worship companion. It offers prayer times, a Hijri calendar with worship reminders, prayer and wudu tracking, a Qibla compass, Qur'an reading, and a library of authentic duas and adhkar with source references.

The Service is provided for personal, non-commercial use to support your daily worship.

Religious content and no fatwas

My Amaal summarizes evidence-backed worship guidance with references. It does not issue fatwas, and nothing in the Service is a religious ruling for your personal circumstances. For detailed rulings, personal situations, or questions where scholars differ, consult qualified scholars you trust.

Dua and dhikr content is retrieved from a pre-vetted corpus of established sources (such as the Qur'an, Hisn al-Muslim, and graded hadith collections). The Service never generates new religious text.

Prayer times and calendar accuracy

Prayer times, Qibla direction, Hijri dates, and Islamic-night boundaries are calculated estimates. They depend on the calculation method, your location settings, device sensors, and community sighting practice, and they can differ from your local mosque or community.

You are responsible for verifying timings that matter to you — especially for obligations such as fasting start/end times and prayer windows — against your local mosque or community authority.

Your account

Most of the Service works without an account. If you sign in (for example with an email magic link), you are responsible for maintaining access to the email address you use and for activity that occurs under your session.

You may request deletion of your account and associated server-side data at any time — see the Privacy Policy, or email support@myamaal.com.

Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the Service: do not attempt to disrupt or overload it, probe or breach its security, scrape or bulk-extract its content, reverse engineer it except where the law permits, or use it to infringe the rights of others.

You may not resell or redistribute the Service or its curated content as your own product.

Intellectual property

The My Amaal name, brand, app design, and original content are owned by the My Amaal team and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws.

The Qur'an, hadith, and classical texts referenced in the Service belong to our shared Islamic heritage; translations and gradings are credited to their cited sources. Source references shown in the app identify where content comes from.

Third-party services

The Service relies on third-party providers — such as Supabase (authentication and data), Expo (push notifications), AlAdhan-compatible timing data, and Photon/OpenStreetMap (online location search). Their availability affects the Service, and their processing of data is described in the Privacy Policy.

Changes to the Service

We may add, change, or remove features as the Service evolves, and we may update content as our review process improves it. We aim to keep the Service free of ads and free of tracking, as described in the Privacy Policy.

Disclaimer of warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or uninterrupted availability.

We work hard to keep content sourced and reviewed, but we do not warrant that every timing, translation, or reference is free of error. Please report issues so we can correct them.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the My Amaal team shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Service.

Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.

Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time and may delete your account as described above. We may suspend or terminate access that violates these Terms or harms the Service or its users.

Changes to these Terms

If these Terms change materially, the updated version will be published with a new effective date. Continuing to use the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
